Ate at Captains Anchorage in their new patio Labor Day weekend. Weather was perfect for an early dinner. I ordered the pork chops. My husband ordered steak. The pork chops were undercooked. I asked them to cook them more and they were absolutely delicious. Our waitress was very attentive, which was nice. It was a bit on the pricey side, but the food and atmosphere was great.
Came here wanting to check out their happy hour and it did not disappoint...the drinks are extremely fair priced as well as some of the bites. I got a lemon drop martini to start and hub got his n/a beer...he opted for the prime rib sandwich and I got the steak bites with mushrooms...both were really good....we decided to hang around for a second drink. Music is great in here and the bartender is clearly loved by her regulars and I can see why...personable, sweet, efficient and able to handle large crowds....when in town this is a must return for us....
Excellent food as usual! The owner stopped by our table for a friendly chat. Highly recommend Captains Anchorage.
My daughter and I enjoyed our dinner here when we visited the Big Bear. The restaurant felt so cozy and nice. My prime rib was amazing and they had a great selection of wines as well. Will return when we are back in town.

The food was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS and everyone in our party completely enjoyed their dinner. The Jumbo Tempura Shrimp was cooked perfectly ;the Shrimp Scampi was tasty as was the Canjun Halibut and the bone in Pork Chop. The staff was polite, professional and respectful. Sean, Sharon (or Sherrie I cannot recall her name) were just the best. The owner and manager came by our table and they were also very friendly and kind. Great food and great staff!
We dined here last night on our first night here in Big Bear. We were seated at the 2nd floor and the dining area is huge with log cabin feel. We ordered the Peanut Colada(loved it), Bourbon Bacon Jam ( original and awesome ) Prime Rib and Grilled Salmon are both delicious. We are not disappointed with the portion and did not leave hungry. The only thing we did have dessert as we are full Sean and his partner( sorry forgot his name ) are both excellent and gave great service and definitely 5 Stars . Great recommendations and friendly service. Kudos to both of them Kudos to Carlos for inventing the Bourbon Bacon Jam ( must try)
